Brian V. Gerd

Brian Gerd joined the firm's Washington, D.C., office in 2021. His practice primarily concentrates in the field of administrative law, natural resources law, government contracting, and municipal law. Primarily, Brian works with clients involved in litigation, providing advice and representation at all stages of suit: prelitigation strategy, discovery and motion practice through trial, resolving disputes, and post-judgment appeals. In this work, Brian has represented clients in both State and Federal court, on appeals to the Ninth Circuit, and in submitting briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court. Brian also represents clients advocating before governmental agencies such as the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Office of Management and Budget, and regularly working with clients participating in regulatory rulemaking procedures. Brian attended the University of Minnesota Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Brian completed a clerkship with the Honorable Erin B. Marston at the Anchorage Superior Court and practiced in Anchorage, Alaska as an associate with a full-service insurance defense firm. Outside of work Brian is an active participant in local mystery book clubs, captains a weekly trivia team in Washington D.C.'s District Trivia, and cheers on his alma mater Davidson College as a college basketball fan.
