Mathew C. Widmer

Since 2005, Matt has been helping clients solve problems, taking a holistic approach to the practice of law. The first step is always sitting down with a client, listening, and working with the client to help put them in the best position to get what they need. Too often, inexperienced attorneys want to immediately rush to litigation: wasting time and money and increasing stress for all involved. A calm, reasoned, and measured approach is often the best way to help a client efficiently resolve their issues. However, not every problem can be solved amicably. In those situations, Matt draws upon over 20+ years of trial experience throughout Alaska to ensure that his clients get the opportunity to tell their stories in court. When not practicing law, you can find Matt serving on various Boards (including Junior Achievement of Alaska, the Anchorage Bar Association, and the Alaska Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers), volunteering with Anchorage Youth Court, playing soccer at the Dome, or practicing Aikido.
