David J. Linden

My Background and Qualifications Hastings College of Law, San Francisco University of California, Santa Barbara Practicing Attorney since 1967 Focusing on Public Service law since 1971 Representing Applicants for Disability Appeals since 1980 David J. Linden attended college at UC Santa Barbara where he majored in Political Science and completed a Philosophy minor. He was a member of the University's swimming and water polo teams. After graduating from UCSB in 1964, David attended Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Bechtel Corporation was Mr. Linden's first employer. After two years on the legal staff in Bechtel's San Francisco headquarters, he transferred to Bechtel's office in Gaithersburg, MD, a Washington, DC suburb. In 1971 David left Bechtel to direct a public service program for the American Bar Association in Washington, DC. For the next 9 years Mr. Linden served as staff director for a variety of ABA programs in corrections/prison reform and mental health reform. In 1980 David left Washington and moved to Napa and entered private law practice. Since then, he has represented applicants for government and private disability insurance benefits. For the first several years in Napa Mr. Linden's law practice included other areas such as personal injury and family law. But by 1990, David's interest in assisting people with their uphill battle for benefits wrongfully denied them resulted in his devoting all of his energies to this end. David's wife, Cathy, works with him and manages the office. Between them they have 4 children of whom they are proud. Lots of grandkids, too.
