Karine Cargo

Karine joined Hersh FamilyLaw Practice, P.C. in December of 2009. Karine works with forensic accountants, custody evaluators, Special Masters for custody and/or financial issues, private judges, co-parent counselors, communication coaches, actuaries, and ERISA attorneys to achieve the best results for her clients. Karine has been practicing family law since 2002. She worked for a boutique family law firm in Santa Clara County, Hoover & Bechtel, LLP, for approximately one year. From 2003 to 2009, Karine practiced in San Mateo County at Harris & Fraser. Both positions offered Karine the opportunity to assist clients with a wide range of family law issues. Karine’s legal career began with complex international corporate tax transactions. She later worked in the Global Equity Services Group at Baker & McKenzie, an international law firm. Karine co-authored a speech, about the fiduciary issues involved in the selection of investments for governmental retirement funds, that was cited in congressional testimony. Karine obtained her LL.M in Taxation at the University of Washington. Karine earned her J.D. from Gonzaga University in Washington. Karine served on the Board of the San Mateo County Bar Association Barristers where she organized Brown Bag Lunches with members of the judiciary and attorneys in the community. She presented an MCLE “Family Law In California: The Fundamentals” with two other Barristers on May 19, 2010. Karine is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, the San Mateo County Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and Queen's Bench Bar Association.
