Leonard M. Shulman

Leonard M. Shulman is the Managing Partner of the firm and primarily carries out his practice in the Irvine office. Mr. Shulman’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions along with creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. He also handles all aspects of business litigation, creditors’ rights, trustees, creditor’s committees, and the representation of debtor’s in the insolvency context. More recently, Mr. Shulman has been hired multiple times as an attorney fee and billing fraud examiner. Mr. Shulman has participated in dozens of mediations as party counsel and has overseen numerous mediations and settlement conferences as a neutral. Based on the recommendation of other attorneys in the Orange County legal community, the legal publication Martindale-Hubbell has awarded Mr. Shulman an AV rating denoting excellence both in legal practice and in professional ethics. Mr. Shulman graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California, San Diego, in 1983. While at UCSD, Mr. Shulman was awarded the Regent Scholar Award for excellence in academics. At the University of San Diego School of Law, Mr. Shulman was an editor for the San Diego Law Review and first became a published author in 1986 with, “Compensation for Collegiate Athletes: A Run for More than the Roses,” 22 San Diego Law Review 701 (1986). Since that time, Mr. Shulman has published dozens of articles on various issues within his practice areas. Over the past 38 years, Mr. Shulman has been very active in his professional community, having spoken and moderated continuing education seminars on various topics related to creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, real estate, and commercial law. Mr. Shulman is a former president of the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum and is currently on the Editorial Board of California Bankruptcy Journal.
