Michael J. Garvin

Michael Garvin joined Sheuerman, Martini & Tabari in 1997 and became a partner in the firm in 2003. He has 25 years experience representing physicians, hospitals, long-term care facilities, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Mr. Garvin has represented physicians, hospitals, nurses, therapists, and other health care professionals in hundreds of professional liability claims. He has also represented physicians and nurses during investigations by their licensing bodies. He has worked extensively with major professional liability and claims management companies, including Beta Healthcare Group, Sedgwick Claims Services. Kaiser Foundation Hospitals / The Permanente Medical Group and The Doctor's Company. Mr. Garvin has lectured on medical malpractice and risk management Issues, and has participated in the process of drafting hospital policies and procedures. Mr. Garvin obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1984, and his law degree from the University of California at Davis School of Law in 1988. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in California and in the U.S. District Courts for both the Northern and Eastern Districts of California. He is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association.
