He earned his undergraduate degree from Adams State College in 1994 and worked full-time—often as an over-the-road semi-truck driver—to put himself through school. He graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1997, where he clerked for the Honorable Donald Endacott in Lincoln. Mr. Vance began his legal career defending negligent drivers and insurance companies at the Colorado Springs firm of Wittman & McCord. There, he learned how the insurance industry evaluates claims and looks at personal injury cases. In 2000, he made a decisive shift: he left defense work to dedicate his career to representing injured individuals—a commitment he has never wavered from.His insight into the “other side” of the case has served him well over the years to understand why the insurance adjusters and attorneys look at cases the way they do. In 2005, Keith was selected to attend the renowned Trial Lawyers College founded by Gerry Spence, an intensive, invitation-only program for trial lawyers who represent people—not corporations.
