J. Vance Hancock

Vance provides legal advice to individuals in developing and documenting their estate plans and legal representation in the probate and settlement of estates. Vance also provides businesses and their owners comprehensive legal representation in the formation and operation of their businesses. Vance brings in-depth experience in estate, probate and business law, as well as a deep understanding of the tax code to provide clients with straightforward, tax efficient advice. Vance represents individuals to draft wills, trusts and powers of attorney that provide for the intended disposition of their assets while also reserving for those clients flexibility to adapt to changing legal and personal circumstances. He also provides guidance and representation to the heirs and fiduciaries of estates to bring to fruition the plans designed by their deceased relative or friend, and to comply with tax laws affecting those estates. Vance has represented businesses in diverse industries, including, banking, chemicals, manufacturing, distribution, aerospace, architecture, digital media an consulting. Among other things Vance has assisted clients with major information technology outsourcing and purchase, development of distribution networks, software licensing and software as a service, business acquisitions and sales, resolution of business disputes and development of export control and other regulatory compliance policies and procedures. All the while, Vance remains current in the tax law to keep clients aware of the tax consequences of their estate plans and business activities and to adjust those plans and activities as appropriate to address those consequences. Vance enjoys working closely with his clients to assist them achieve their personal and business goals.
