Laura S. Mitler

Laura S. Mitler is a Partner in the firm's New Haven office. Ms. Mitler is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and Western New England College School of Law. Before entering law school, Ms. Mitler was a tenured middle school teacher in the New Haven school system. She was also sole proprietor of Glass Gardens Studio, creating design solutions for architects, designers and retailers. After completing her legal education, she spent eighteen years practicing first in a small law practice, and then as a solo practitioner concentrating in the following areas of Family Law: dissolutions, custody, alimony, asset distribution and negotiation, mediation, and adjudication of family issues. Attorney Mitler was awarded the University of Connecticut Certificate of Mediation in 2000, and has served for the past four years as an arbitrator for the Connecticut Better Business Bureau. In addition, Ms Mitler has served as a Special Master for Family Matters in the Milford and New Haven Superior Courts to assist and guide attorneys and litigants in the resolution of complex issues regarding family dissolution matters. Ms. Mitler was President of the West Haven Bar Association 2 yrs after serving as Secretary and Treasurer for many years. A resident of Woodbridge, Ms. Mitler was appointed to and served as a member of the Town's Commission on the Use of Publicly Ownec Property (CUPOP), and has been a Justice of the Peace since 1999.
