Paul L. Knight

Paul L. Knight is Of Counsel at Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, LLP. At Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, LLP, Paul’s practice has focused on professional liability issues and litigation. Prior to joining Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, LLP, Paul served for 13 years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, where he was Chief of the Federal Special Prosecutions Section, which is composed of the senior prosecutors in the office. While at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Paul received the Harold J. Sullivan Award and the EOUSA Director’s Award for superior performance. After leaving the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Paul was in private practice for 35 years, primarily defending corporate executives in white collar prosecutions and providing ethics and strategic advice to other attorneys and law firms. Paul has served as an expert witness in multiple litigations, and he has taught in law schools, CLE courses, and seminars across the United States and internationally on the subjects of legal ethics, criminal procedure, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. A member of the District of Columbia Bar, Paul served for 12 years as Board Member and Hearing Committee Chair for the DC Bar’s Board on Professional Responsibility. He was also Associate Director of President Ronald Reagan’s Task Force on Victims of Crime.
