David F. Tegeler

David F. Tegeler is Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in Construction Law. Mr. Tegeler is a trial lawyer with the firm of Michael C. Sasso, P.A. in Winter Park, Florida. He has practiced law for more than 26 years and has extensive experience in the area of construction law and commercial litigation. As an attorney, David Tegeler has represented all types of participants in the construction process, including owners, general contractors, subcontractors, sureties, and design professionals. In addition to his trial practice, he also regularly counsels clients regarding the preparation and negotiation of contracts and related transactional documents for construction projects. David Tegeler earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University, where he was selected to serve on the Duquesne University Law Review. He has been a Registered Architect for more than 35 years, and has experience in the design and construction of residential, institutional, industrial, recreational, and commercial projects. Mr. Tegeler has been a member of the American Institute of Architects, and served on the Board of Directors of both the Florida Association of the AIA and the Orlando Chapter of the AIA. Attorney Tegeler is admitted to practice law by the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, and The Florida Bar, where he is a member of the Section on Real Property Probate and Trust Law and its Construction Law Committee. He is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association. David Tegeler has also been trained as a Circuit Civil Court Mediator in Florida. Mr. Tegeler has served for over 29 years as an Arbitrator on the Commercial Panel of the American Arbitration Association, primarily in construction cases. He has actively participated in many professional organizations and community service groups. David Tegeler has authored several articles regarding construction law for professional publications, and has presented many seminars to professional groups over the years, including architects, engineers, landscape architects, contractors, subcontractors, and surveyors.
