George C. Bedell III

I am a third generation trial lawyer and a fourth generation native Floridian. I have been trying cases since 1983. I have represented people and companies in federal and Florida courts since 2000. During the sixteen years that I spent as an assistant state attorney in Tampa, I tried over 80 felony jury trials. By preparing and trying cases as a prosecutor, I learned how criminal investigations should be conducted and how evidence should gathered and collected. During my first five years in private practice I worked in a firm that specialized in white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation. I started my own firm in 2008 and continue to represent individuals and companies in federal and Florida courts in criminal investigations and prosecutions with an emphasis on white collar cases. In 1989, the Board of Legal Specialization and Education of The Florida Bar awarded me certification in Criminal Trial Law. To become certified, I passed an examination on criminal law, demonstrated that I had substantial involvement in criminal trial law through cases I had tried, and received positive peer review from judges and other lawyers concerning my competence as a lawyer. To maintain certification, I have had to demonstrate that I continue to have substantial involvement in criminal law. My certification has been renewed every five years since it was awarded. I received my undergraduate degree from UNC – Chapel Hill in 1979. I received my law degree from the FSU College of Law in 1982.
