Hunter R. Scharf

Hunter is a native Floridian who has spent much of her life living in Lake Worth, Florida. After attending local schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, Hunter was a student athlete at Florida International University where she played softball and graduated with a degree in Psychology. After excelling academically, Hunter made the decision to attend law school at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude. During law school, Hunter found her passion for legal research and writing. She won the Book Award for Legal Research and Writing II and was the Lead Articles Editor for the Executive Board of the Nova Law Review, Volume 45 and Junior Associate for the Nova Law Review, Volume 44. During this time, she authored her own Law Review Article titled A Rising Florida Epidemic: Big Business Controls Florida’s Recovery Residence Crisis, which was published in 2019. Hunter also kept her passion for sports alive and was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Prior to focusing her practice in the areas of estate, trust, guardianship and fiduciary litigation, Hunter worked as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Chief J. Jack Tuter of the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida and spent two years practicing insurance defense litigation where she handled matters related to workers’; compensation defense. Hunter now uses her research and litigation experience at Barner & Barner to fiercely advocate for her clients. Hunter is an active member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and Real Property Probate and Trust Law section of the Florida Bar.
