Ian Wise

Attorney Ian Wise brings over 17 years of extensive legal and criminal justice experience to his role as an Associate Attorney at Gans Law. A proud alumnus of Barry Law School, Ian has honed his expertise in criminal law, DUI, and injunctions, demonstrating a deep passion for advocating for his clients in these areas. Attorney Ian Wise is a former police officer with 13 years of experience in the criminal justice system. He now uses that insider perspective to help his clients navigate their criminal cases. As a police officer, Ian focused on DUIs and became certified as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), a distinction earned by less than one percent of officers nationwide. He also served as a Traffic Homicide Investigator (THI), which gives him unique expertise in defending complex and serious criminal traffic offenses. Ian’s commitment to the legal profession is matched by his intellectual contributions to the field. Showcasing his dedication to advancing legal knowledge and practice, some of his greatest achievements are the publication of his scholarly articles: One on the use of oral fluid for marijuana DUI published by the University of Georgia (UGA), and the other by his alma mater, Barry University, on the inconsistent rulings by Florida courts on the topic of law enforcement jurisdiction. Outside of his professional life, Ian is a devoted family man who cherishes spending quality time with his wife and two children. When he’s not on the ice playing hockey, Ian is an avid cook, delighting in creating meals from scratch, and he enjoys exploring new cultures through international travel. Ian Wise’s blend of professional expertise, scholarly contributions, and personal passions make him an invaluable asset to the Gans Law team.
