Rod W. Smith

During the past decade, Rod Smith has been instrumental in helping Avera & Smith become one of the most qualified and capable law firms in the State of Florida. Rod graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1975, and was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year. He has experience in criminal law, personal injury, employment law and other complex civil litigation. Rod was State Attorney for the eighth Judicial Circuit from 1992 - 2000 and was State Senator from 2001-2006. Rod's impressive list of skills and accomplishments allow him to serve his clients with broad trial experience and deep expertise in specific areas of practice. For nearly twenty years, he was an adjunct professor of law at UF focusing on teaching trial practice and similar skills.
