Shayna K. Cavanaugh

Shayna K. Cavanaugh is passionate about helping her clients obtain the best possible outcome for their legal issues, however complex or problematic their cases may seem. She focuses on what is most important to each individual and family and strives to give her clients the support, advice, and guidance they need and deserve. Shayna primarily practices in Marital and Family Law but also handles Administrative DUI Board of Administrative Review hearings and assisting DUI clients in regaining their driving privileges through business purpose licenses. Shayna moved to Naples in 1997 with her husband and business partner, Daniel M. Cavanaugh. She began her career focused on Marital and Family Law, handling issues of Divorce, Paternity, and Domestic Violence. Prior to starting her own practice, Shayna was an attorney for Legal Aid of Collier County, where she worked with clients who had limited means and substantial needs in their divorces. Through this experience, she learned how to customize her services to her clients and provide top-tier legal representation, even in challenging circumstances. Mrs. Cavanaugh worked as a contract attorney representing hundreds of victims of domestic violence and spoke on the topic of domestic violence and divorce at the Shelter for Abused Women and Children for many years. In addition, she served on panels with judges, advocates, and psychologists to engage in discussions about how domestic violence impacts spouses and children during divorce. Shayna has also served as a guest instructor at local colleges and universities to speak on issues of Family Law. She has written a book entitled Divorce in Florida, which answers hundreds of questions that can arise during a divorce. Shayna has been recognized by several organizations for her zealous legal work and was named a “Top 10” Family Law Attorney in client satisfaction by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. In 2023, she was honored with the Best of Collier award for Family Law, further highlighting her dedication to excellence in the field. She also serves on the Family Law Rules Committee of the Florida Bar and the Grievance Committee for the 20th Judicial Circuit. More personally, Shayna and Dan raised their two children in Naples, and both adult children are now contributing to the growth of their law practice. In their free time, they enjoy the outdoors and traveling.
