Tonya D. Cromartie

Ms. Cromartie is a native Floridian. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. During law school, she received the Book Award for her work in the Civil Clinic handling family law cases for indigent clients. After finishing law school at the University of Florida in 1997, she moved to the Daytona Beach area. She has been practicing law in the area since. In 1998, she was admitted to the Florida Bar, and began her career as an Assistant State Attorney. As an Assistant State Attorney, she prosecuted crimes on behalf of the State of Florida. She handled almost every type of offense including, but not limited to: juvenile, misdemeanors, DUI's, domestic violence, environmental crimes, drug offenses, sex offenses, and homicides. During her tenure as a prosecutor, she was awarded the Top Gun Award for her Outstanding Record as a Criminal Trial Lawyer. She has been awarded an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbell. That rating represents recognition by attorneys and judges of both her ability and professionalism. She is rated 10 out of 10 Superb by AVVO which is an online service that ranks attorneys in accordance with their experience and peer review. She has received numerous client-based awards including the 2017 Client Champion Award. In 2014, the Florida Supreme Court admitted her as a certified family law mediator. She is a member of the Florida Bar, Volusia County Bar Association, Volusia Flagler Association of Women Lawyers, and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. The Law Office of Tonya D. In 2003, she opened her private law practice, and has continued to serve the people of the area handling criminal defense, family law, real estate, personal injury, and probate cases.
