Tracy L Valente

Tracy began her carrier with this firm as a summer law clerk in 1997. She enjoyed her experience and learned so much during that summer that she has been a part of the firm ever since. After passing the Florida Bar she joined the firm as an associate in 1998 and became a shareholder of Heekin Litigation Group in January of 2004. Tracy’s practice includes representing businesses, both large and small, individuals and insurance companies. She has a broad range of experience in construction matters, real estate disputes, contract drafting and disputes, business litigation and franchise disputes. She also has experience representing both commercial and residential associations. She likes to say when asked about her practice areas, “unless you’ve been arrested, I can probably help you”. Since 1998, Tracy has gained valuable experience representing clients through all phases of litigation, including bench and jury trials as well as numerous arbitrations and mediations. Tracy is admitted to practice throughout the State of Florida, and in the United States Federal Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. She is also a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association and the Construction Law Section of the Florida Bar. Tracy was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Fort Washington, Maryland. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Political Science, Cum Laude, from the Florida State University in April, 1994. Following graduation from Florida State Tracy obtained her juris doctorate degree, with honors, from the University of Florida. Despite attending the two rival schools, Tracy has a clear allegiance to FSU and would even wear her Seminole colors to her law school classes. Tracy lives in Saint Johns County with her husband, two sons and a 15 year old cat (who believes she’s actually a dog.) You will find her most weeknights and weekends cheering on her sons during the seemingly endless baseball games they love so much.
