Steven Leibel

Steven K. Leibel is a highly accomplished attorney with a wealth of experience in both legal practice and public service. Leibel served as Associate Judge for the Municipal Court of Duluth, Georgia, from 2000 to 2008, where he built a reputation for fair and efficient case management, particularly in criminal misdemeanor cases and local ordinance violations. With over 40 years of expertise in a variety of legal fields, he has made a significant impact in complex civil litigation, and constitutional law. A graduate of Emory University School of Law (J.D., 1980), Leibel has held leadership roles in numerous organizations, including serving on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia and as a member of the Brain & Spinal Injury Trust Fund of Georgia. He has also been active in local community organizations, such as the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, the Heroes of Forsyth County Sheriff, and The Board of Directors of the Meridian Buckhead Apartments. Leibel’s legal career has seen remarkable success, securing significant verdicts, including achieving the fourth-largest verdict in the U.S. in the case of Brown v. Dorsey (2002) and the largest verdict in Dawson County (2007). His practice focuses on personal injury, medical malpractice, and government liability, while his prior work in constitutional law has earned him recognition from the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. Beyond his legal work, Leibel has demonstrated a commitment to education and leadership, having served as an instructor at both Emory University School of Law and North Georgia College and State University.
