Alberto R. Gonzales

Alberto Rafer Gonzales serves as of counsel for Borjas Law Group, LLC. He received his law degree, magna cum laude, in May 2016 from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. Mr. Gonzales has been licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois since November 2016. He is also admitted to the general bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Executive Office for Immigration Review and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Mr. Gonzales also received an MBA, with distinction, from North Park University in 2009. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, with highest distinction and college honors, from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001. As an immigration attorney, Mr. Gonzales’ primary focus is employment- and family-based immigration, consular processing, T and U visas, VAWA, unlawful presence waivers, citizenship, DACA, and customs forfeiture cases. Originally from the Philippines, Mr. Gonzales personally went through and completed the U.S. immigration process. He is fluent in Tagalog, proficient in Spanish, and has basic knowledge of French. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Chicago Bar Association, the Christian Legal Society, and the Filipino American Lawyers Association.
