Christopher V. Parente

Christopher Parente is an experienced trial lawyer. Chris has significant trial experience having worked both as a federal prosecutor and as a defense attorney at a leading Am Law 100 firm. During this time, Chris has tried 30 federal jury trials, winning all of them, and has argued twelve times in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. His practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, federal criminal defense, and internal investigations. Prior to being a Founding Member of Cheronis & Parente LLC, Chris served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in both Chicago and Miami where he prosecuted a wide range of cases, including white collar crimes, theft of trade secrets, public corruption, healthcare fraud, tax fraud, cybercrimes, human trafficking, violent crimes, and firearms offenses. Most recently, Chris served as a Deputy Chief AUSA, overseeing violent crime prosecutions, and also served as the leader of the Chicago Office's human trafficking and crimes against children programs. Prior to becoming an AUSA, Chris practiced in the complex and commercial litigation group at Jenner & Block LLP where he worked on major, high-stakes litigation matters involving Fortune 250 companies. Chris graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School where he served as an editor for the Notre Dame Law Review.
