Lisa M. Meador

Lisa received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago and her law degree from DePaul University. After law school, Lisa joined a small firm in Chicago practicing insurance defense and commercial litigation. In 2004 Lisa joined the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office where her practice focused on representing county officials and employees in a wide variety of labor and employment matters including employment defense, employment discipline, collective bargaining negotiations. During her tenure Lisa became lead attorney for elected officials in the Shakman federal lawsuits related to prohibition political discrimination in employment. In 2012 Lisa joined Cook County as Deputy Bureau Chief of Human Resources and Supervisor of Labor Relations where she acted as primary legal advisor and lead collective bargaining negotiator for all aspects of labor and employment matters in relation to a diverse work force for both Cook County and the Cook County Health and Hospital Systems. She returned to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2014 as the Supervisor of the Complex Litigation Unit, defending Assistants State’s Attorney and county officials in complex civil rights and reversed conviction cases in federal court as well as continuing lead representation of county officials in the Shakman litigation.
