Betsy Sommers

Betsy is a partner in the litigation group at Coots, Henke & Wheeler, where she concentrates her practice on defending businesses and municipalities in employment-related claims, including EEOC investigations and cases involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage disputes, and other employment law matters. In addition to employment law, Betsy has extensive experience defending premises liability cases, municipal cases, general tort claims, dram shop litigation, and real estate disputes. Betsy’s expertise spans all phases of the litigation process—from pre-suit negotiations and discovery to summary judgment proceedings and appeals—ensuring her clients receive comprehensive, strategic counsel. Betsy also has significant family law litigation experience. She regularly represents individuals in divorce and post-dissolution proceedings, guardianships, and civil protective orders, as well as drafting and negotiating prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. As a trained Guardian Ad Litem, she advocates for the best interests of children in court proceedings.
