John T. Woods

John Woods received a bachelor’s of science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Evansville in 2006 and his Juris Doctor from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 2009. John started his legal career at Krieg Devault, LLP where he practiced in the areas of patent prosecution, intellectual property licensing, and litigation. While John has experience in various facets of intellectual property law including trademarks, trade secrets, and copyright, John has maintained a focus on patent prosecution. John has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in the subject areas of internal combustion engine technologies, hybrid technologies and electrical vehicles, after-treatment systems, air and refrigeration compressor system technologies, electronic controllers and systems, turbo-machinery, as well as various mechanical systems and devices generally. John has prepared numerous right-to-use, infringement, invalidity, and patentability opinions. John Woods is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. John is an Eagle Scout, and he volunteers for various organizations and remains active within the Indianapolis legal community.
