
About Scott L. Long
Scott Long has over thirty-five years of civil and commercial litigation and trial experience. He has represented clients in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative and arbitration proceedings, in virtually every area of civil and business-related litigation, including contract disputes, business torts, employment-related claims, partnership dissolutions, shareholder disputes, construction claims, creditors' rights cases, will contests, real property disputes, intellectual property lawsuits, product liability claims, and personal injury and wrongful death cases. Scott is originally from Mason City, Iowa and is a graduate of the University of Iowa (B.B.A. with Distinction, 1984) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D. 1987) After graduating from law school, Scott practiced in Phoenix, Arizona for approximately ten years. He returned to Iowa in 1997 and has practiced in a large law firm setting, as in-house counsel, and as a sole practitioner. Scott joined Sease & Wadding as of counsel in February of 2026. He has given a number of presentations and lectured on various substantive and procedural aspects of civil and commercial litigation to both lawyers and business professionals. Scott is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Iowa, as well as in the 6th, 8th, and 9th Circuit Courts of Appeals.
