R. Scott Ryburn

Scott has been engaged in the practice of law in Franklin County, Kansas, since graduating from Washburn University School of Law in 1985. He began as an associate with the firm, and then spent two years as an Assistant County Attorney in 1993-1994. Since his return to the firm in 1995, Scott has concentrated his practice in areas of personal injury, wrongful death, oil and gas, insurance law, municipal law, real estate, banking, probate and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice before all courts in Kansas, including the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. He was also admitted to the United States Supreme Court in 2004. In 1996, Scott was appointed as a magistrate pro-tem and continues to serve in that capacity for the Fourth Judicial District of Kansas. He also served three consecutive terms on the Fourth Judicial District Nominating Committee which nominates District Judges. Scott has tried cases in all areas of civil and criminal law, the Kansas Court of Appeals, focusing on representing plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death and oil and gas. Scott has tried numerous jury trials as well as argued several cases before the Kansas Court of Appeals.
