John Roy

John Roy grew up surrounded by the law. His grandfather, father, and older siblings all practice law, and their commitment to helping others inspired him to follow the same path. From an early age, John knew he wanted a career where he could stand up for people and work toward fairness and justice, and the law gave him that opportunity. A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, John graduated from Holy Savior Menard Central High School before earning his undergraduate degree in political science from Louisiana State University, where he also minored in philosophy and geography. While at LSU, John worked as a runner for the House of Representatives and later at a Baton Rouge law firm during his final semester. After graduating early, John followed in his family’s footsteps and attended LSU Law School, where his grandfather and siblings earned their degrees. He received a full scholarship and graduated in 2024. During law school, John externed for Judge Guy Holdridge at the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal, worked for an environmental law firm in Washington, D.C., and participated in LSU Law’s annual charity football game raising money for different charitable causes in the Baton Rouge area. After his second year of law school, John clerked for The Townsley Law Firm and accepted a job offer upon his graduation. Since joining The Townsley Law Firm in 2024, John has worked on a wide range of cases and continues to expand his knowledge and skills to better serve his clients. Outside of work, John loves being active outdoors, especially snowboarding, wakeboarding, and biking. He also enjoys cooking, traveling, reading, watching Louisiana sports, and listening to live music. John credits his parents for instilling in him the values of professionalism, integrity, and compassion, and for teaching him the importance of helping others. Those lessons guide his approach to his work and the way he handles each case.
