Terri M. Collins

Terri Collins brings 31 years of extensive litigation experience to Taylor, Wellons, Politz & Duhe, APLC. She is aggressive, responsive to her clients and passionate about her work. A native of the New Orleans area, Terri attended Louisiana State University, where she graduated with honors with a B.A. in psychology in 1984. Three years later, she graduated with a Juris Doctor from LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1987. While a law student, Terri was active in the Student Bar Association and served as its vice president during her senior year. After graduation, she served as the chairman of the Baton Rouge Bar Association's Young Lawyers Liaison Committee. Terri was also a founding member of the Dean Henry George McMahon chapter of the American Inns of Court and was awarded the American Inns of Court Foundation National Leadership Award. She currently serves on fundraising teams for local charities. Terri spent the first 17 years of her career in private practice concentrating on employer and insurance defense matters, including workers' compensation, motor carrier liability, premises liability, employer liability and general commercial liability. Her experience also includes chemical exposure cases, traumatic brain injuries, defense of hearing loss cases and fatalities. Before joining Taylor, Wellons, Politz & Duhe, she spent the last 12 years as a trial attorney for a global workers' compensation and liability insurer, during which time she served as the leader of the insurer's Louisiana workers' compensation team. Terri is a frequent speaker on workers' compensation and liability law, and has prepared and delivered numerous presentations to peers, insurance leaders and colleagues. When she is not practicing law, Terri and her husband enjoy cycling and spending time with their two college age sons.
