David P. Putzi Esq.

David P. Putzi is recognized as a distinguished criminal defense and DUI attorney. He is a zealous advocate for his clients, convincing prosecutors not to bring charges at the conclusion of some police investigations, as well as obtaining favorable pre-trial and negotiated outcomes in numerous charged cases. When a case requires litigation, Mr. Putzi possesses vast trial experience. He appears every day in the Maryland courts to defend his clients. Many of the thousands of cases that he has successfully defended involve high-profile matters that receive extensive media attention. Mr. Putzi's expertise is evidenced by his numerous professional awards, including the Preeminent AV Rating at Martindale-Hubbell, the Super Lawyers of Maryland, the Top Attorneys of Baltimore Magazine, and the Leading Lawyers of Anne Arundel County. His law practice specializes in representing individuals charged with criminal, DUI & DWI, traffic, and juvenile offenses, as well as quasi-criminal matters such as protective orders & peace orders, and administrative hearings. Mr. Putzi previously served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Maryland. As a prosecutor, he was responsible for litigating a wide variety of felony and misdemeanor cases. He received specialized training in sexual crimes, felony drug offenses, juvenile matters, and DUI field sobriety testing. Mr. Putzi is a past President of the Anne Arundel County Bar Association. He also served as the Chair of the Criminal Law Committee for the AABA, teaching other attorneys in the areas of criminal defense strategy, search and seizure issues, the rules of evidence, and defending domestic violence cases. He was selected by his peers and confirmed by Governor Martin O’Malley as a member of the Judicial Nominating Commission responsible for selecting trial judges in Anne Arundel County. Mr. Putzi attended The Catholic University School of Law. He was selected to the Editorial Board of The Catholic University Law Review.
