Monica Meyers

Monica Meyers earned her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary, where she double majored in Sociology and Philosophy. She went on to complete her MBA at William & Mary before attending the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she concentrated in Trial Practice and Advocacy. After law school, Monica served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the District Court Judges of Prince George’s County. Monica began her legal career as a defense attorney at the Law Offices of Thomas C. Mooney, where she spent seven years representing clients in District Court, Circuit Court, Federal Court, and before the Maryland Board for Administrative Hearings. She later joined the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, where she served in the Special Victims Unit (SVU) handling cases involving domestic violence, child sexual abuse, rape, attempted murder, and homicide. For her dedication and excellence, Monica received the Spotlight Award from the State’s Attorney’s Office in 2022, and in 2024 she was honored by United States Attorney Erek L. Barron and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland for her outstanding work in a joint child sexual abuse prosecution. During her tenure as a prosecutor, Monica also led the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) division, investigating and prosecuting cases involving the viewing and distribution of child sexual abuse material. In addition, she lectured law enforcement officers on search warrant procedures and regularly trained new police academy recruits on courtroom testimony and trial preparation. After four years as a prosecutor, Monica returned to the Law Offices of Thomas C. Mooney, where she now focuses her practice on personal injury cases. Drawing from her extensive experience on both sides of the courtroom, Monica is dedicated to achieving justice for individuals who have been injured through no fault of their own. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Monica takes great pride in her Mexican heritage and in serving people from all backgrounds and walks of life. She previously worked with Catholic Charities assisting clients in immigration matters and continues to advise on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions. Each year, she also takes on numerous pro bono immigration cases, reflecting her deep commitment to justice, compassion, and community
