Edward J. Casey

Edward J. Casey is a graduate of Attleboro High School, Johns Hopkins University, and Western New England College School of Law. He passed the Massachusetts bar examination in 1981, and practiced law with the firm of Casey and Thompson, P.C. from the mid-1980’s until the firm’s dissolution in 2006. Thereafter, he established his own office, Casey Law Offices, P.C., and practiced with Max Volterra and Thomas Morin, until closing that office in late 2019, and joining Coogan Smith. His practice had been and continues to be one focused on municipal law, real estate development law, commercial and residential real estate law, and probate law. Mr. Casey is a Vietnam-era Army veteran, with almost four years’ active duty service, and more than sixteen years’ service in the Army Reserve and National Guard. He is a former Army helicopter pilot. Mr. Casey has participated in the civic life of his community, having contributed as: a member of the Attleboro Housing Authority; a member and past chairman of the Attleboro Zoning Board of Appeals; and, a member and past president of FAIR (Friends of Attleboro Interested in Revitalization). He is a member and past president (twice) of the Attleboro Rotary Club, and served as past chairman of the Greater Attleboro Taunton United Way board of directors. He is the recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow Award and the Massachusetts Bar Association community service award. He is a life member of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation. Mr. Casey is the son of the late probate judge Edward F. Casey, the brother of chief probate judge John Casey, the spouse of Maria Y. Casey, and the father of three children.
