
About Kurt L. Binder
Kurt Binder's practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial litigation, employment law and business and corporate matters. He serves as counsel to a number of closely-held businesses on matters involving commercial contract drafting and negotiation, employment policies and procedures, and corporate governance. Mr. Binder has tried cases in state and federal court before both judges and juries. He regularly appears before various state and federal administrative agencies and participates in resolution of private sector disputes in both mediation and arbitration. Mr. Binder is admitted to the bar of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Worcester County Bar Association where he has participated for many years as a voluntary mediator and conciliator. Mr. Binder carries Martindale-Hubbell's highest bestowed rating of "AV" and is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, which is an invitation only trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Representative Matters Recovered a multi-million-dollar settlement on behalf of parents of a toddler who drowned in a swimming pool at a residential apartment complex; Recovered in excess of $1MM in a property damage case involving frozen pipes in a former mill building leased by the client; Successfully represented a multi-state commercial trucking company in the defense and resolution of multiple customer property damage in excess of $8MM resulting from warehouse fire; Obtained $3.6MM jury verdict in case involving emotional distress damages resulting from a murder for hire plot; Prevailed in the enforcement of an employment non-compete after a seven-day bench trial resulting in a 40-page ruling enforcing the non-compete; Obtained policy limits on $500,000 underinsured coverage claim on behalf of elderly driver injured in head-on collision Awards and Honors Honors Martindale & Hubbell "AV" Peer Review Rating Awarded, 2007 - Present Fellow, Litigation Counsel of America, 2014 - Present Massachusetts Super Lawyers®, 2015 - 2021 Best Lawyers in America© - Litigation - Labor and Employment, 2021 - Present
