Benjamin J. Herbert J.D.

Benjamin Herbert is a founding partner of Herbert Machnik Law Firm who focuses his practice on Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Trust and Estate Administration. He is committed to helping individuals, families, and fiduciaries navigate complex legal matters with clarity and compassion. Ben earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 2006, following the completion of his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Michigan State University. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and is admitted to appear before the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Probate and Estate Planning Certificate Program. His legal practice encompasses a broad range of services, including Medicaid planning and asset preservation, estate and trust litigation, and legal counsel for trustees and personal representatives. Benjamin also advises clients on matters involving real estate and corporate law. He represents a wide array of clients, including trustees, executors, beneficiaries, retirees, young professionals, families, and business owners. In addition to his legal work, Benjamin regularly speaks on topics such as estate planning for various life stages, Medicaid planning, and end-of-life issues. He has served as a guest lecturer at Spring Arbor University and presented continuing education seminars for the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Outside of his legal practice, Ben is actively involved in his community through his church and volunteer service while serving on the Alternatives Pregnancy Care Center and Christian Legal Aid of Southwest Michigan Board of Directors.
