Jason N. Machnik J.D.

Jason Machnik is a founding partner of Herbert Machnik Law Firm and leads the firm’s highly experienced Litigation and Real Property Teams. Known for his practical, client-focused approach, Jason uses his team's collective expertise to help clients avoid liability and litigation whenever possible. When disputes do arise, he provides steady, strategic guidance—focusing not only on legal outcomes but on what’s best for the client as a whole. Jason began his legal career in 2011, trying his first jury trial shortly after graduating cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. During law school, he earned the Certificate of Merit in Property Law, served as Class Representative for the Student Bar Association, and was Chapter President of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. He also holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from Western Michigan University. His early legal experience includes work as an intern with the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office, clerkships with Judges Bakker and Cronin in Allegan County, and attorney positions at both large and boutique firms in Kalamazoo. In addition to his litigation and real estate practice, Jason advises clients in areas including business and commercial law, employment law, and intellectual property, including trademarks. He is also a certified mediator, offering clients alternative avenues for dispute resolution when appropriate. Jason’s commitment to the legal profession is matched by his dedication to the local community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Kalamazoo Bar Association, contributes to the Risk Management and Advocacy Committees of the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors, and is a Board Member of the Southwest Michigan Professionals Network.
