Jennifer Lossia McManus

Jennifer Lossia McManus exclusively represents plaintiffs in employment related disputes. She works with her clients as they negotiate employment agreements and severance packages and represents them as they navigate their way through claims of discrimination, unlawful termination or illegal wage and hour practices. Her clients include employees from all fields, including whistleblowers, executives, managers, fast-food workers, clerical staff and medical assistants, and her areas of representation range from medical leave, sexual harassment and all forms of discrimination including gender, race, age and disability to wage theft, overtime and collective action cases. Some of Jennifer's more recent cases include representation of a man terminated shortly before his legacy pension vested, a woman terminated from her employment while undergoing treatment for breast cancer, representation of a class of fast food workers that are illegally denied overtime wages, representation of a medical office worker that was sexually harassed by the company's owner and representation of a mortgage broker that was terminated after blowing the whistle on illegal lending practices. Jennifer works closely with the legal community, with both the plaintiff and defense bar. She serves as a co-chair for the Federal Bar Association's Legal Ethics Committee, which she participated in developing. She is also an Officer of the Michigan Association for Justice, a member of the Labor & Employment Law Advisory Board for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, a Council Member of the State Bar of Michigan Labor & Employment Law Section and a member of the Federal Bar Association's Executive Board. Jennifer speaks frequently at seminars through the Michigan Association for Justice, the State Bar of Michigan Labor and Employment Law Section and the Federal Bar Association. She has participated in discussions on topics including the Family Medical Leave Act, wage theft, dispositive motion best practices and legal ethics in social media. Jennifer previously worked as a career law clerk for Judge Bernard A. Friedman in the Eastern District of Michigan and as an attorney at a large Detroit law firm. Her practice today is devoted to advocating for employees that are wronged in the workplace.
