Kenneth F. Neuman

Mr. Neuman has more than 31 years of experience in the courtroom and has obtained multiple verdicts and arbitration awards in excess of $1 million. Mr. Neuman has also successfully defended numerous claims brought against tier one and tier two automotive suppliers, builders and developers, and businesses of all types on a variety of commercial claims. In addition to his law degree, Mr. Neuman is a registered Certified Public Accountant and has a keen understanding of financial and business valuation, tax and accounting issues. Based on his experience, Mr. Neuman is appointed regularly as a Receiver over a variety of operating businesses in the automotive, real estate and health care industries by various judges in and around Michigan to assist the Courts in preserving business assets and/or to oversee an entity's orderly liquidation. Moreover, Mr. Neuman continues to be selected by numerous parties, and their counsel, as an arbitrator and/or facilitator on a variety of commercial disputes involving complex business and accounting issues. Mr. Neuman was also named a Best Lawyer, is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and as an Oakland County and Wayne Case Evaluation panelist. In addition, Mr. Neuman currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association, and is a Master on the American Inns of Court. He has been named a Michigan Super Lawyer 10 consecutive years (including a Top 50 Business Lawyer and 1 of the Top 100 Lawyers for the entire State of Michigan), a Best Lawyer, and a dBusiness magazine Top Lawyer . Mr. Neuman is also a registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and spent several years practicing with one of the “big eight” accounting firms, prior to beginning his legal career. He is a 1983 graduate of Michigan State University (B.A. in Accounting) and a 1986 graduate of the Wayne State University School of Law. In addition to his role as client advocate, or in advising clients in countless commercial transactions over the years, Mr. Neuman has been called upon by Judges and fellow practitioners in Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, and St. Clair Counties to assist them as a receiver in complex commercial cases. Moreover, Mr. Neuman has served as an arbitrator and/or facilitator in numerous commercial cases involving areas of corporate law, real state, contracts, insurance, and business torts. A frequent speaker at the continuing education seminars of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accounts on litigation and expert witness related matters, he is also a current member of the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA), State Bar of Michigan, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants. In his spare time, Mr. Neuman has done volunteer work as a part of the OCBA Pro Bono Mentor Match Program, and currently serves as a Master in the American Inns of Court, providing guidance to new lawyers. He also volunteers his expertise for numerous nonprofit organizations in the metro Detroit area and is often called upon for his unique training in accounting and tax law by his peers looking for help in complex accounting and business cases.
