Rick Hetherington

Flint attorney Rick Hetherington graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a degree in Criminal Justice. After graduation, Rick chose to pursue a career in law enforcement. Flint, Michigan, consistently ranked as one of the most dangerous cities in America, was the chosen locale. Rick retired as a sergeant in 2011 and continued his pursuit of justice by becoming an attorney. Serving as an officer for 23 years, approximately 15 of which were in an investigative capacity, Rick is no stranger to the criminal justice system. After graduating from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Rick was immediately hired by the law firm of Christenson & Fiederlein, PC.. It is his familiarity with criminal law and the criminal justice system that makes him an invaluable asset to any accused client. Because of his background, Attorney Hetherington is very adept at deciphering the strengths and weaknesses of a criminal investigation. Rick has extensive experience with retained and appointed criminal clients. He has also handled numerous litigation matters, landlord and tenant cases, and business law matters. Already in his short career as an attorney, Rick has written a brief for the Michigan Supreme Court which resulted in a favorable verdict for a Christenson & Fiederlein, PC., client. He was also featured in an article for the Benchmark, an alumni publication for Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Rick is an admitted member of the State Bar of Michigan and is active in the criminal law, real property, and young lawyers sections. He is also sworn in to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
