About David M. Cox
I have been practicing in the Twin Cities and the northern suburbs since graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, in 2004. I strive to develop a relationship of trust and confidence with my clients. I make consulting and hiring a lawyer as cost-effective as I can by providing honest advice, negotiating with your goals at heart, avoiding unnecessary litigation where possible, and litigating your case aggressively in court when necessary. Over the years I have raced mountain bikes, wrote and sold short fiction, and worked as an editor on various fiction magazines. Before I went to law school, I spent ten years in the business of group health insurance, from opening letters in the mail room to negotiating contracts as an account manager. I used to play chess competitively but gave it up to retain my sanity. I married my wife Amy in 2007. We have an 11-year old son, Douglas. He likes baseball, super heroes and, above all, online gaming. He will tell you I am the very best lawyer ever. These days I spend my free time enjoying good beer and fine cigars, canoe camping in the boundary waters, and putting miles on my road bike. I ride at least one long distance charity event each year, such as the MS150 in Minnesota and the Scenic Shore 150 in Wisconsin. Reported Cases Himley v. Himley, Court of Appeals of Minnesota, unpublished decision, 2013 WL 4504379, 2013. Kyle v. Tuttle, Court of Appeals of Minnesota, unpublished decision, 2012 WL 6097232, 2012. Pichotta v. Pichotta, Court of Appeals of Minnesota, unpublished decision, 2012 WL 987274, 2012. Robb v. Funorama, Inc., Court of Appeals of Minnesota, unpublished decision, 2005 WL 1331265, 2005. Miller v.
