Lauri Ann Schmid

Attorney Lauri Schmid is a graduate of Concordia College (Bachelor of Arts in General Business) and Hamline University School of Law, both of St. Paul. Lauri has been involved in the legal industry since 1986, when she began her career as an office manager/receptionist with a law firm in Edina, Minnesota. In 1987, she took on the role of legal assistant. She continued to work with one of the attorneys, Michael Mollerus, through 1997. In 1997, she earned her law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. She began work as an attorney with the firm of Mollerus & Haug, Ltd. At that time, her name was Lauri Haug, and she became a firm partner in November of 1997 and continued as a full partner until June of 2003. In July of 2003, Lauri capitalized on her experience and expertise and started her own firm, L.A. Haug & Associates, Ltd. In July 2008, she changed her last name to Schmid and began the law firm of Schmid & O’Brien, Ltd. In 2010, Lauri formed the new Schmid Law Firm, Ltd in order to offer a singular level of service and commitment to her clients. Lauri keeps her legal knowledge current by attending seminars that cover the latest changes and trends in the laws. She is actively involved in the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section (2016-17 Secretary of the Section; 2017-2018 Vice Chair of the Section; and 2018-2019 Chair of the Section) and she also is the past chair of the Consumer Debtor Attorney Subcommittee. Lauri currently resides in Savage, Minnesota, with her husband, Mike. Her hobbies and areas of interest include travel, reading, sports and riding motorcycles.
