Peter J. Wollan

Peter understands that divorce, custody, and child support matters come with a lot of emotions and a lot of questions. He takes the time to get to know you and your family's unique situation to craft an individualized approach to your case with your goals in mind. Peter believes that most matters can be resolved through alternative dispute resolution including mediation and early neutral evaluation. While he strives to resolve cases amicably when possible, he is well prepared to advocate on your behalf in court if necessary to achieve your goals. Prior to joining Meinerts Law Office, Peter worked for the largest family law litigation firm in the nation. This experience exposed him to training and practices throughout the country in oftentimes high conflict cases. During law school, he spent time working for a small southwest metro law firm practicing general litigation with an emphasis on family law. Before beginning his legal career, Peter spent nearly a decade in banking working for both large and small banks conducting anti-money laundering investigations and mortgage fraud investigations. He also has a previous background in law enforcement and criminal justice. This experience means that he can handle both complex financial cases where one party has attempted to conceal marital funds, as well as custody matters involving criminal charges, orders for protection, and sexual abuse allegations. Peter lives in Shakopee and is active in his children's school and the local soccer association among other community pursuits. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, bicycling, reading, and travel.
