About Burke D. Robinson

Companies in the construction industry rely on Burke Robinson for practical, results-oriented legal representation. Recognized by Best Lawyers as Lawyer of the Year for his work in construction law, Burke brings more than 20 years of focused industry experience to advising and advocating for commercial contractors, suppliers, condominium homeowners’ associations, developers, owners and sureties. Litigation Burke represents construction clients in the full range of disputes, including construction defect matters, payment and delay claims, and insurance coverage issues—often in cases involving 10 to 20 parties. He has successfully litigated numerous multimillion-dollar claims through arbitration and in state and federal courts. Transactional Counsel Burke drafts and negotiates contracts for general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. His litigation background gives clients a strategic advantage; he uses lessons learned in the courtroom to craft contract terms designed to prevent disputes or withstand them when necessary. Project Management For developer clients, Burke provides comprehensive project oversight from inception to closeout. His work includes drafting, administering and enforcing construction and design contracts; monitoring construction progress to manage risk; preparing and processing pay applications; and handling lien waivers. As a co-founder of Long & Robinson, LLC, Burke takes pride in delivering a true one-stop shop for the construction industry’s legal needs. He offers flexible alternatives to the traditional billable-hour model, including contingency and hybrid fee arrangements, and the firm’s ability to manage most litigation tasks in-house saves clients significant time, money and disruption. Burke frequently speaks at continuing education seminars for engineers, architects and contractors, sharing practical insights on construction contracting, risk management, mechanics liens and alternative dispute resolution.
