Laura King is a Senior Associate Attorney with Stange Law Firm, serving clients from the firm’s Springfield, Missouri office. She is committed to providing compassionate, thorough, and client-centered representation during challenging times. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she was active in competitions and received several honors, including the Robert J. Fussell Outstanding Pro Bono Scholarship Award. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Seattle University and an Associate of Arts from South Seattle Community College, earning Dean’s List recognition at both institutions. Before joining Stange Law Firm, Laura served as the District Defender for the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office in Ava, Missouri. She managed caseloads, maintained organized files, and represented clients from their initial appearance through resolution. She regularly drafted and argued motions, prepared appellate filings, and communicated closely with clients. Her significant trial background gives her the poise and advocacy skills essential in domestic relations matters. Laura also brings experience from civil litigation, where she prepared motions, drafted pleadings and discovery, reviewed case materials, and assisted with litigation strategy. Earlier work with Legal Aid of Arkansas, judicial externships, and clinic roles provided additional exposure to dissolution matters, nonprofit formation, client intake, and domestic case research. With more than a decade of courtroom experience and a steady, detail-oriented approach, Laura strives to help clients feel supported, informed, and empowered. Whether assisting with dissolution, parenting issues, financial arrangements, or other domestic relations concerns, she works to guide individuals forward with clarity and confidence.
