Ryan Watson

Ryan practices in the areas of insurance defense, complex insurance coverage, product liability, premises liability, construction defects, toxic torts and general tort litigation as a member of the Financial Services industry team. He has substantial jury trial experience in all aspects of insurance matters, including first-party and third-party insurance coverage disputes, bad faith and vexatious refusal claims, catastrophic injury cases, and prosecuting declaratory judgment actions. Ryan has defended manufacturers of propane and gas grills and water heaters in various product liability litigation. Ryan's legal accomplishments include: Obtaining summary judgment for insurance company in declaratory judgment action filed by lawn-care company seeking coverage worth $2 million for damage to commercial residential lawns. Defending insurance company in claim for underinsured motorist benefits. Plaintiff asserted that anti-slacking policies contained within policy were unenforceable. Summary judgment was granted. Securing summary judgment in $15 million lawsuit against client alleging negligent inspection of a worksite. Ryan has extensive motion practice experience and has handled all levels of discovery, including depositions, expert discovery, dispositive motions and trial. He has experience in state and federal courts throughout the United States.
