About Victor E. Covalt III
Vic Covalt grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska and brings an honest, hard working, down to earth attitude to the office every day. Vic was a top scholar in law school. In the last 30 years, he has proven to be able to transform academic excellence into court room excellence. Vic is known for his pro bono work in Nebraska including many years of work with the Mock Trial Program and as a volunteer lawyer in death penalty defense including three appearance on the CBS prime time program, 48 Hours, for his work on the Wili Otey case. Vic has won several jury trials and appears regularly in state and federal court cases, particularly in bankruptcy and in corporate dissolution and partnership breakup cases. In 1993, Vic designed a program of Warehouse Lending for mortgage originators which he still maintains for lenders today. Vic enjoys practicing in the unusual areas with challenging legal concepts, including construction lien and bond law, tax sales certificates, and the Uniform Commercial Code. Vic is a master of designing simple but effective forms for businesses to use in daily transactions. Vic has been married to Ann for 31 years and has two daughters and one grandson.
