James Wood

James Wood played football for his father, legendary high school football coach, Gordon Wood. Jim brings the grit, competitive spirit, and enthusiasm he learned on the gridiron with him every time he enters the courtroom. "All we ask for is a level playing field", Jim says. Concern for other people is the reason Jim is a trial lawyer: Helping people find justice is the most satisfying part of the work we do at the Wood Law Firm. When the strong injure the weak or greed overcomes fairness, Jim takes it personally. Behind every case, there is someone, often many people, who suffered, people whose lives changed. You can never forget that fact. Jim and his wife, Jan, are proud parents of two wonderful children, Ty and Erin. Jim served as Chair of the Randall County Democratic Party from 1996 through 2003. Jim is an avid horseman and a member of the National Cutting Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
