Andrew J. Genna

PUBLICATIONS Oxford University Press, The Noise Handbook, (Tempest) Various articles for the INCL Journal of the New York State Bar Association Mr. Genna joined Finkelstein & Partners in 1990 after having practiced law in Manhattan for 17 years. He began his career with the country's premiere aviation litigation firm, and also handled maritime, medical malpractice and general tort litigation. He then opened his own firm and served as litigation counsel to a major Fortune 500 Corporation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury, drug and commercial litigation as well as regulatory matters. In this capacity Mr. Genna supervised litigation throughout the country and also tried selected cases personally as lead counsel. Mr. Genna has personally tried to verdict cases in all of the areas of law mentioned above, in various State and Federal jurisdictions, obtaining numerous verdicts and settlements in excess of one million dollars. He has briefed and argued cases before the Appellate Courts of New York State as well as the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. He has had the privilege of trying cases before Justice Sonia Sotomayor who presently sits on the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Genna is an avid avocational musician who enjoys both jazz and classical music. During an early and brief professional career, he was fortunate enough to cut several sides for the Columbia Records label while performing with "DUKE'S NEW SOUND BAND" (copies available upon request.) When not practicing law (or music), Mr. Genna enjoys fishing and hiking with his wife and two Labrador Retrievers, E.K. "Duke" and Ella-Fitzgenna.
