Angela Thompson

Angela Thompson-Tinsley is the owner of the law firm bearing her name in Cold Spring, New York. She has dedicated her career to defending the rights of professionals and organizations that are accused of medical malpractice, health care negligence, nursing home abuse and other misconduct. She serves clients in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Rockland and Ulster counties. Known for being nonjudgmental and confidential, Ms. Thompson-Tinsley understands that the mistakes of a professional do not define them. She explores every case thoroughly to figure out the details and evidentiary standards involved. Over her 27-year career, she has represented many doctors, health care providers, nursing homes and hospitals. She also helps them assess business risks and draft employment contracts and other business agreements. Ms. Thompson-Tinsley has successfully litigated several cases in the federal and appellate courts across the state, helping professionals protect their licenses, reputations and livelihoods. She received her license to practice law in New York in 1995 and later, in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Born in Chadron, Nebraska, Ms. Thompson-Tinsley completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science at the Long Island University Post in Greenvale, New York, in 1991. She obtained her doctorate in jurisprudence in 1994 from Brooklyn Law School, where she served as the articles editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law. When it comes to serving her community and investing in her knowledge, Ms. Thompson-Tinsley leaves no stone unturned. Since 2009, she has been an adjunct professor at the Seton Hall University School of Law, where she teaches advanced trial advocacy to prospective lawyers. She is also a part of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy Deposition Skills program. Ms. Thompson-Tinsley is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Dutchess County Bar Association and the Mid-Hudson Women's Bar Association.
