About Ann R. Johnson

Ann is always ready to take on difficult and unexpected challenges to help her clients. In the aftermath of the World Trade Center tragedy she guided two families through the complex and unprecedented application process required to receive federal benefits. The U.S. government established the federal Victims Compensation fund to assist families who lost loved ones in the terrorist's attacks of September 11, 2001. Ann brought equal measures of perseverance, legal skill and compassion to this emotionally charged situation. More typical assignments for Ann include a wide range of motions and appeals in personal injury cases. Her appellate work includes many noteworthy cases. In Charles v. Ball, 291 A.D.2d 367 (2nd Dept. 2002), the Appellate Division affirmed the lower court's denial of summary judgment in a case involving a 6-year-old girl who had been struck by a car. In Rodriguez v Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp., 285 A.D.2d 454 (2nd Dept. 2001), the Appellate Division affirmed a $300,000 jury verdict in favor of a 20-year-old man who sustained a spinal injury when his car crashed into an excavated ditch in the street. Ann joined the firm in 1999. She graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law, Hamden, Connecticut in 1994. Ann is a gardening and yoga enthusiast.
