About Cecelia R.s. Cannon
The overall goal of Cecelia's practice is to help businesses problem solve in a variety of contexts, ranging from resolving contract disputes to developing and updating employee benefit programs. Cecelia is a member of the litigation department, and has advocated in both state and federal courts on behalf of clients on a wide range of issues, including commercial eviction and foreclosure proceedings, sale of business disputes, contractor disputes, and enforcement of non-competition provisions. She also has developed a strong knowledge base of the rules and issues unique to the securities industry through her work with a number of financial advisors on compliance issues and intra-industry disputes. Her recent experience in the field of employee benefits includes conducting reviews of the health benefits currently offered by a given employer, and working with employers to implement health and welfare wrap plans. This process involves analyzing current practices of employers, including eligibility and timing of offering health benefits, comparing them with the legal requirements governing such benefits and the written materials provided by insurers and third party administrators, and working with employers to clarify any discrepancies and bringing the health benefit plans into compliance where necessary. Cecelia also works with businesses on trademark matters, including successfully navigating the administrative appeal process on behalf of clients whose initial registrations were denied.
