
About Deborah Sherman
Deborah Sherman is Of Counsel at the firm of Kramer Kozek LLP, practicing exclusively in the field of matrimonial and family law. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Kappa Delta (the National Sociology Honors Society) in 1978 and graduated with Highest Honors from the State University of New York at Stony Brook the same year. Ms. Sherman graduated with honors from Hofstra Law School in 1981, where she was an Associate Editor of the Hofstra Law Review. Ms. Sherman was admitted to practice in New York State in May 1982, and to the Federal Southern and Eastern District Courts in September and October 1982. Ms. Sherman began her career as a litigation associate with Weil, Gotshal & Manges, and later with Gold, Farrell & Marks in New York City. She was an Associate General Counsel of New York University from 1987 – 1990. In 1991, after practicing general and commercial litigation for ten years, she founded the law firm of McHugh & Sherman in New York City and added matrimonial law to her practice. In 2000, after moving to Westchester, she began practicing exclusively in the areas of matrimonial and family law. Ms. Sherman is a former partner in the firm of Faust, Roy, Mangold & Fuchs LLP. Ms. Sherman is an experienced trial attorney. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association Family Law section, the Westchester Bar Association, the Westchester Women’s Bar Association, and the National Association of Professional Women. Ms. Sherman has been selected to the New York Metro Super Lawyers every year since 2014. She was selected to New York Times Top Attorneys in New York in 2014, and to the New York Times Top Attorneys in Metro New York in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and 2018. She was a member of the Board of Arbitrators of FINRA (formerly NASD Dispute Resolution, Inc.), from 1988 to 2008, where she presided over more than 70 securities arbitrations.
